Version 1.x of DataSynch for use with QuickBooks and Salesforce when installed runs as a service in the Windows environment. What that means to the business user is On-Demand type transactions; transactions sent for immediate synchronization, are indeed synchronized when the request is made. This is called continuous operation. However, while Version 1.x is continuous, it does not have queued delivery. What that means is just because a transaction is submitted does not mean DataSynch for use with QuickBooks and Salesforce will return with a successful response. In fact the transaction request may fail. In this case the user is notified and can try again immediately. Good, even great by some measure, but not ideal.Version 2.0 of DataSynch for use with QuickBooks and Salesforce is implemented with the same continual service model as Version 1.x, but Version 2.0 also offers the ability to queue requests. This means that is a request is submitted and the service is busy processing other requests, or is unable to connect with a remote resource (IE: SFDC), the request is queued and processed as soon as possible. The new queued model allows business users to not have to wait until a successful response to know that their transaction will be submitted successfully. This guaranteed delivery coupled with the continual operation, gives users DataSynch for use with QuickBooks and Salesforce Version 2.0 enterprise type reliability for off the shelf software prices. Stay tuned for launch dates to be announced in the coming week!!!
